Dr. Nicolas Cadet

Dr. Cadet is the first ophthalmologist of African descent in Canada to sub-specialize in oculoplastics. In addition to his work at the PréciVision clinic, he practices ophthalmology and oculoplastics at the Hôpital de Verdun.

He earned his medical degree from McGill University and completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Université de Montréal. He then pursued a sub-specialty in aesthetic and reconstructive oculofacial plastic surgery, as well as orbital and lacrimal surgery, at McMaster University in the Toronto area under the mentorship of Dr. Yasser Khan.

Over the years, Dr. Cadet has won twenty awards for his academic achievements and social involvement. He has authored several scientific publications and regularly presents at local and international conferences. Since 2014, he has organized an annual free glaucoma and eye health screening at the Montréal-Nord community center. Furthermore, he has organized and participated in numerous oculoplastic and ophthalmic surgical missions across three continents to provide sub-specialized care to underserved populations.

Dr. Cadet is of Canadian-Haitian descent and is dedicated to making aesthetic medicine and surgery more inclusive and diverse. He speaks French, English, Haitian Creole, as well as Spanish and basic conversational Mandarin Chinese.

He specializes in the evaluation and performance of oculoplastic surgeries, including:

• Cosmetic Procedures: Blepharoplasty, botulinum toxin injections, fillers, etc.
• Eyelid Pathologies: Ptosis, ectropion, entropion, eyelid retraction, benign and malignant eyelid lesions, and brow lifts.
• Lacrimal (Tear Duct) Pathologies: Watery eyes, endonasal DCR, external DCR, and Jones tubes.
• Orbital Pathologies & Miscellaneous: Proptosis, Graves’ disease and other orbital inflammations, painful phthisis bulbi, orbital decompressions, orbital tumor removal, eviscerations/enucleations, etc.
