Dr. Kevin Messier

Dr. Kevin Messier, Optometrist (O.D.), earned his Doctorate in Optometry from the Université de Montréal in 2008. In 2011, he obtained the very first ocular health residency certificate offered by the Université de Montréal, followed by a Master’s degree in Vision Science in 2019.

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Messier is an Assistant Professor and Director of the University Vision Clinic at the Université de Montréal School of Optometry. He also participates in the activities of the Centre de perfectionnement et de référence en optométrie (CPRO) as a lecturer and scientific coordinator. In 2015, he became the lead reader for the Université de Montréal Reading Center, which provides diabetic retinopathy screening for Indigenous communities in Quebec. Furthermore, he serves on the boards of directors for the Association des optométristes du Québec (AOQ) and the CPRO, and has participated in several committees on optometric practice, such as the INESSS committee for developing optimal usage guides for various ocular conditions.

Dr. Messier is a speaker and consultant for several pharmaceutical companies in the fields of glaucoma, dry eye, and contact lenses. He possesses extensive experience in multiple areas of optometric practice, including glaucoma, diabetes, and dry eye disease. He regularly gives lectures to various healthcare professionals, including pharmacists and general practitioners, on diverse topics concerning ocular health.

Dr. Messier joined the team at Clinique d’ophtalmologie Bellevue in 2024.
