Dr. Karim Hammamji

Dr. Karim Hammamji is a vitreoretinal specialist and surgeon (medical and surgical retina). He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) and is a member of their ocular oncology team, where he is responsible for complex surgeries associated with eye cancer.

Dr. Hammamji completed his medical training at McGill University and his ophthalmology residency at the Université de Montréal. He then pursued two years of specialized training in retinal surgery and pathology, as well as ocular oncology, at the University of Calgary and the prestigious Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.

Throughout his career, he has been dedicated to research and the advancement of his specialty. He is currently a researcher at the CHUM Research Centre (CRCHUM). He has delivered numerous local and international scientific presentations and has been the recipient of several awards and grants for his work. He also serves as the Head of the Retina Section at the Université de Montréal.
