Dr. Karim Hammamji
Dr. Karim Hammamji is a specialist in vitreoretinal surgery (medical and surgical retina). He is also Assistant Professor at the Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) clinic and is in charge of complex surgeries associated with eye cancer in their ocular oncology team.
Dr. Hammamji completed is medical training at McGill University and his ophthalmology residency program at the Université de Montreal. He then continued his studies at the University of Calgary and the prestigious Ophthalmology Center of Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, completing a 2-year training in surgeries and pathologies of the retina.
During his career, he has devoted himself to the research and development of his speciality. He is currently a researcher at the Centre de Recherche du CHUM (CRCHUM). He has made many national and international scientific presentations, and has been the recipient of several awards and scholarships for his work. He is also Head of the Retina Section at the Université de Montréal.
