Dr. Joseph Hakim

Dr. Hakim is an ophthalmologist and eye surgeon with a special interest in medical retina—including macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy—as well as glaucoma, cataract surgery, MIGS (Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery), and ocular laser procedures and interventions.

He serves as the Chief of Ophthalmology at Charles-Le Moyne Hospital, a university center affiliated with the Université de Sherbrooke. He also performs surgeries at the DIX30 Surgical Center (Clearpoint Health) in Brossard on Montreal’s South Shore. Dr. Hakim completed his medical studies and ophthalmology specialization at the Université de Montréal, training within the CHUM, Maisonneuve-Rosemont, and Sainte-Justine hospital networks. He earned his Medical Degree from Université Laval and also holds a Master’s degree from McGill University.

Beyond his passion for ophthalmology, Dr. Hakim is involved with several community and volunteer organizations in the Montérégie and Montreal areas. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing tennis.
