Dr. Guillermo Rocha

Originally from Mexico, Dr. Rocha earned his Medical Degree from Universidad Anáhuac, followed by an internship at the American British Cowdray Hospital and a postdoctoral research fellowship in microsurgery at the Hospital Regional 20 de Noviembre, ISSSTE, in Mexico City.

After beginning his first year of ophthalmology residency at the Hospital de la Asociación para Evitar la Ceguera in Mexico City, Dr. Rocha moved to McGill University to complete a postdoctoral research fellowship in ocular immunology within the Departments of Ophthalmology and Microbiology & Immunology. He then completed his residency in the Department of Ophthalmology, followed by a fellowship and research residency in corneal and external eye diseases at the University of South Florida in Tampa Bay. In recent years, Dr. Rocha completed the Physician CEO Executive Management Program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management (Chicago) and the Foundations of Clinical Research Certificate Program at Harvard Medical School.

Throughout his career, Dr. Rocha has delivered nearly 150 lectures and presentations at regional, national, and international levels. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and a member of both the American College of Surgeons and the World College of Refractive Surgery and Visual Sciences.

Dr. Rocha served as President of the Canadian Ophthalmological Society (COS) from 2016 to 2018 and sits on the Board of Directors of the Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology. As President of the COS Foundation, he collaborated on the 2022 launch of the Ukraine Vision campaign, a Canadian initiative to help cover the costs of treating eye injuries and their after-effects in Ukraine. The group received the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Secretariat Award for this initiative.

Dr. Rocha joined the Clinique Bellevue team in 2024.
