Phthisis Bulbis
Phthisis bulbi, or atrophy of the eye, is the terminal stage of several serious eye pathologies. When phthisis bulbi occurs, the eye becomes soft and often painful. No longer being functional, an enucleation (removal of the eye) is then necessary.
